Nicholls State University Projects

DDG has completed 19 projects on or near Nicholls State University’s campus. Furthermore, DDG was contracted by Nicholls to conduct a 25 Year Master Plan. The information compiled for this master plan came from a combination of research, campus input, subcommittee meetings, and a campus wide survey. The majority of the research took place over the 2018 Fall semester. The six-month-long process utilized focus groups with a variety of participants. Classified employees, unclassified employees, students, organizations, and the executive administration staff all came together in an informal setting to have open discussions on delegated topics. Through this master planning effort, DDG truly gained a full understanding of the Nicholls campus culture. We have attended numerous functions on campus and recognized the challenges and project constraints to overcome. We have cultivated a strong and lasting relationship throughout this process and look forward to continuing to bring Nicholls’ vision to life.

The Nicholls Coastal Center Programming Guide consists of a new two-story, 33,400 SF building, to me located on campus that will provide critical collaborative space needed for the growth of the Coastal Support Program designed to focus on resources and land preservation.

Nicholls State John Folse Culinary Institute was a design-build project. DDG provided architecture and civil engineering services for this project. The 31,200 SF site contains visitor parking, gardens to grow herbs for cooking purposes, four teaching kitchens, a demonstration kitchen, a bistro-style restaurant, cultural research center, offices, and classrooms.
