DDG provided pre-design services, master planning and a skate park obstacle design for an 8,500 square feet skate park in Houma, Louisiana. The building features shipping containers salvaged from local landfills to reduce the amount of refuse and uses them in an architectural fashion. The skate park project was very controversial as DDG assisted the client in identifying the best location to encourage the most use from the general public.

Since the Fireman’s Skate and Bike park has been open we have received countless accolades and thanks, and it is one of the most successful and popular public facilities in the parish. Much of the success is due to the great work that the DDG team provided through civil, architectural, and landscape architectural design services. Having all of those services under one firm certainly made the process much more smooth and efficient. Your efforts to coordinate other sub-consultants and construction took a lot of burden off the Parish staff.
