As a local sub-consultant to national bicycle and pedestrian specialists Alta PLANNING+DESIGN, DDG provided local planning insight, landscape architecture, park design, and civil engineering to an economic development multi-use recreational trail along Bayou Lafourche. The master plan and feasibility study provide the framework for the parish moving forward with an economic development catalyst project.
This project contains opportunities and challenges analysis, recommendations, and implementation chapters that outline the preferred trail alignment and trail treatment throughout its entirety. Branding and wayfinding signage for the trail was also developed, which consisted of a logo, trail name, and wayfinding signage package that aim to inspire outreach and enhance connectivity. A health and economic impact report was also completed within this plan and reflect the potential impacts to the community if the entire 56-mile alignment is implemented. To support future feasibility studies and design development, a future expansion tool kit illustrates typical cross sections, design elements, and guidance for trail support amenities. “
