DDG provided civil engineering and architectural services for the new 20,000 SF Bollinger/ Bordelon Strength and Conditioning Center on E.D.White Catholic High School’s Campus in Thibodaux. The building is attached to the high school gymnasium and expanded the existing varsity football locker room to nearly double its size. The weight room and locker room have a new common area that showcases the school’s athletic awards and trophies. The design prioritized function by including an indoor turf practice area with yardage markings for conditioning exercises and drills.
DDG consulted with E.D. White and their shareholders to specify athletic flooring that is commonly showcased in university conditioning centers. A large overhang provides shaded steps overlooking a new senior parking lot that doubles as a paved marching band practice field. The exterior design work also included paver site improvements and on-street parking spaces. The project was completed in 2022.
