DESCRIPTION:
The Accounting Assistant will support accounting staff with day-to-day functions by performing administrative and organizational duties.
ACTIVITIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Greet clients and visitors and direct to appropriate staff
- Keep a clean work environment
- Maintain polite and professional communication with employees and visitors
- Correspondence preparation: letters, fax, transmittals, etc.
- Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.
- Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
- Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
- Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
- Completing and submitting Expense Reports
- Sort mail and scan
- Assist accounting manager and team with any other tasks necessary
- Assist office staff with general requests such as running and compiling reports.
- Complete transmittals
- Assist office staff with any other tasks requested.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

- Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-5 years administrative or accounting assistant experience preferred
- Bookkeeping training preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Consistently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
