DESCRIPTION:

Duplantis Design Group, PC (DDG) is seeking a motivated, self-starting, Construction Inspector for various projects in the Mobile, AL market. As a Construction Inspector, you will monitor the work of contractors and provide critical support and documentation services for several private and public sector projects.

ACTIVITIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work collaboratively with engineers, construction crews, and project owners in a dynamic, attention-demanding environment.
  • Performs routine inspection services while maintaining a closely supervised relationship between the supervisor and contractor.
  • Observes activities critical to successful implementation of the Lake Borgne marsh creation project including earthen containment dike construction, dredge pipeline outfall monitoring, adherence to official project plans and specifications, sheetpile installation, property access rights-of-way, and dolphin barrier observations.
  • Document daily construction progress photographically and in writing, summed up in a Daily Report to be sent to project stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report performance of contractors to Engineer in Charge.
  • Construction activities are seven days/week so candidates will be required to work weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Construction experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
  • Experience with ArcGIS preferred
  • Highly effective written/verbal communication and organizational skills; experience reviewing and preparing technical reports
  • Familiarity with commonly used surveying and construction terms preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety, both personally and directed toward others
  • Valid driver’s license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel to various project sites.
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
