DESCRIPTION:
Duplantis Design Group is actively pursuing qualified candidates to augment our growing landscape architecture team. This production-level position is a great opportunity for someone who believes in the enrichment of our communities in which we live, work, and play and is committed to making a positive difference as part of a cohesive interdisciplinary team member. The Designer, Landscape Architecture will provide overall project design, support, and task management assistance to the Landscape Architecture Project Manager (LAPM) and/or Landscape Architecture Senior Project Manager (LASPM) on individual projects. The Designer shall support project development from conceptual master planning to the development of construction implementation plans. The primary objective of the Designer is to perform tasks and assist the LAPM and LASPM in all aspects of a project to advance in knowledge and growth of their skill sets to a point of managing and designing their own projects. Team and client coordination, along with sound communication skills (verbal, written, and graphic) will be fundamental characteristics for the prospective Designer.

Specific Assignments
- Utilize knowledge of the landscape design process that includes site analysis, conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documentation.
- Conduct research for code requirements and design options.
- Assist the project team with the preparation of project documentation during all phases of design, such as project graphics and exhibits, site grading, paving designs, walls, structures, site lighting, planting and irrigation design, and layout of land uses for site development.
- Supports construction administration on projects by attending workshops, site visits and/or construction meetings and assisting in preparing sketches or drawing revisions.
- Assist in visualizing designs with hand/digital graphics.
- Perform drafting and design on projects using a variety of software that may include: Land F/X, Sketchup, Lumion, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.
- 0-5+ years of experience with landscape architecture projects.
- General understanding of the design process.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently with oversight from supervisor.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple simultaneous projects, as necessary.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, graphic, and written communication skills.
- Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop in particular.
- Proficient in using AutoCAD.
- Proficient with and ability to identify Southern plants.
Preferred
- Basic Understanding of ArcGIS, Revit, SketchUp, and Lumion.
- Understanding or proficiency of Land F/X.
- Path Underway to Professional Licensure.
- Membership in a professional practice organization.
- Digital rendering and hand sketching skills.
- Understanding of materials, construction methods, and tools involved in the implementation of landscape architecture projects.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel to various project sites.
- Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
