DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of a Licensed Surveyor, the S.U.E operator will lead all investigation activities. The S.U.E.Operator is responsible for locating underground utilities in accordance with the appropriate ASCE standards for each designated quality level within the defined scope of work. With a commitment to accuracy and integrity, the operator will provide DDG clients with the most reliable and precise information regarding the underground utility network.
The operator is expected to inspect all utilities within and surrounding the project area, employing a range of geophysical techniques to collect comprehensive data. They must be proficient in reading and interpreting utility plans and conducting thorough record research to compare anticipated utility layouts with actual field conditions.
By integrating technical expertise with detailed analysis, the S.U.E. Operator will ensure that utility mapping is both thorough and dependable. ACTIVITIES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote DDG's core values, both internally and externally, and comply with the DDG Company Manual
- Responsible for accurately tracing underground utilities using the most effective method tailored to each utility type.
- Coordinates with clients to ensure that all questions are clearly defined and understood by respondents
- Follow instructions/work orders from S.U.E / Crew Manager.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with all staff and clients
- Communicate daily with your S.U.E. / Crew Manager to confirm if you are on track to complete your field schedule - Letting them know when you are behind or ahead of schedule.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- 2+ years experience in S.U.E field operations.
- Strong understanding of S.U.E. research process, data collection, and analysis.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED with S.U.E field experience and knowledge to perform task required.
- Ability to read records research documentation.
- Knowledgeable in the use of Geophysical technology ( RD8200, etc.)
- Valid Driver’s License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel to various project sites.
- Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
