The I-49 project from Lafayette to New Orleans is an exciting infrastructure project under design by the DOTD. DDG’s scope of work included surveying approximately 3 miles of roadway. This survey also included numerous side streets and adjacent developed areas as required not only to facilitate geometric improvements design but also subsurface drainage data collection to facilitate numerous drainage improvements throughout the corridor. This included a combination of subsurface and open channel systems ranging in size from small culvert crossings to significant box culverts and coulees. The surveying scope also includes the preparation of boundary and right-of-way plats to be used by the DOTD to acquire any required ROWs.
